Let Me Slide In Your Inbox!
Hi! Remember me? Last you heard from me, I was celebrating my 28th birthday and reflecting on lessons learned in my first 27 trips around the sun. While I’ve been MIA, I promise my vision and direction have not changed. Here’s a quick life update and things I have been working on.
Leading up to my birthday in early June, I made the decision to get my own apartment here in Destin, FL. My very own apartment! This decision brought a variety of feelings… some excitement and a little pride, but mostly anxiety. So, I have been working through some exercises in Jen Sincero’s You are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth. This book is helping me better understand and reconcile my relationship with money… y’know, so I can actually furnish this place and stop eating dinner on the floor. I’ll keep you updated because…
MANTRA: I deserve to make this place feel like home.
My boyfriend was here for the first two weeks of July, which is when I moved in. Long-distance has been difficult for us this year, but having our own little space really felt just like home. He hung my blackout curtains, and put together my bookshelf, which were the only things I cared about — shocker!
On a rainy day, we decided to create our own wall decor. It was his idea, actually. Spoiler Alert: It’s cheaper to buy wall decor, but it’s way more fun to create your own. On the 4th of July we avoided crowds and went to see Toy Story 4 instead, which we loved! We spent time at the beach, the pool, and eating way too much pizza and way too many Klondike bars. He also made me some of the most delicious meals — and nachos one day that literally had me dancing. I truly wouldn’t change a thing about our visit.
In blog-related news, I recently updated my ABOUT page to better explain what exactly this blog means to me and what I want it to mean to you. It has transformed since I initially started UNTAMED Melodies. In this same respect, I am working on creating a monthly newsletter (or launching the same premise as an e-Course). Stay tuned for more on that as I finalize my vision and how I want to execute!
Much of my time for the remainder of this year will be devoted to writing my book as opposed to blogs. I wish I could “do it all” but I’m still in that full-time + part-time + “I live at the beach and wanna be a bum” phase of life.
That’s all for now! I’ll leave you guys with the three messages on display in my new apartment:
Be your own kind of beautiful.
Today is a good day for a good day.
Find joy in your journey.
